  3. Upload your ID and proof of your reason for staying (studies, an internship, a job or an exchange). Nothing is paid at this stage.
  4. Once approved, pay the €295 membership fee to hold your room.
  5. Sign your tenancy agreement online, on our page, right after you pay.
  6. Pay the first month's rent and the deposit before you move in.

How much does a student room in Budapest cost with Fuse?

Fuse rooms in Budapest cost €380 to €1,135 a month, all-inclusive, depending on the room and the contract length. On a 12 month contract the lowest price is €380 and the typical room is €465 a month. Shorter contracts cost more per month. Prices from the live listings, checked on 23 October 2026.

What is the deposit, and when do I pay it?

The security deposit is its own bank transfer, due with your first month’s rent, by the 27th of the month before you move in, or 3 days after you sign if that day has passed. In Budapest it is 2× the base monthly rent. The base monthly rent is your all-inclusive monthly rent less €135 for utilities. It is held in a separate account and returned within 30 days of checkout, minus any deductions. Normal wear and tear isn't charged.

Does the monthly rent change based on contract length?

Yes. Shorter contracts have slightly higher monthly rent; the 12-month contract carries the base (lowest) rate. The exact price for each contract length is shown during booking.

What counts as a valid reason for staying?

We accept a broad range of purposes, including university or college studies at institutions such as ELTE, Corvinus, Semmelweis, BME or Óbuda University, internships and traineeships, early-career roles, volunteering with recognized non-profit or non-governmental organizations, and Erasmus, fellowships or similar exchange programs.

Are all bills included in the rent?

Yes. Fuse is all-inclusive: your monthly rent covers electricity, water, heating and fast Wi-Fi, with no separate utility bills. Fair use applies: if the utilities of your own room or flat go above €70 in a month, the extra can be charged; at Gát utca 19 the allowance is 150 kWh of electricity and 5 m³ of water a month. Beyond the €295 membership fee, your rent and your deposit, there are no other charges.

Can I rent a room in Budapest for one semester?

Yes. The shortest Fuse contract is 5 months, which fits one semester or an Erasmus exchange. You can also choose 6, 10 or 12 months; shorter contracts cost more per month. Contracts start on the 1st or the 15th of a month.

Can I book a room in Budapest from abroad, without a viewing?

Yes. Booking is fully online: choose a room, enter your details, upload your ID and proof of your reason for staying, and once approved pay the €295 membership fee to hold the room.
